lẹwara is a body care brand aimed at making luxury skin care products an accessible experience. A play on the Yoruba words for beautiful (lẹwa) and the skin of your body (awọ-ara), lẹwara is a nod to culture and a promise to those using our products on their skin care journey. Our focus is to use high quality ingredients and highlight the extraordinary effects of shea butter and other impactful components on our skin.

lẹwara's beginnings came from a need to find a product that would keep skin moisturized during harsh Mid-Atlantic winters. After a family trip to Nigeria in 2016, lẹwara's founder decided to mix raw shea butter and a blend of oils together in the hopes of creating something to solve her problems. Combining her love of science and public health with her love of beauty and skincare, Teni launched her business in 2017 and brought the body butters that transformed her skin to her friends and family. After going viral in 2020 and amassing a small cult following, the business took a short hiatus and relaunched as Lẹwara in 2026 to provide a luxury body care experience paired with undeniably effective results.
